Warner Bros. Doubles Down at E3 2016

After a massive 2015, Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment (WBIE) looks to make another big splash at E3 2016 with an exciting lineup of titles for both virtual reality (VR) and traditional platforms.

First among these is Injustice 2, the eagerly awaited sequel to the publisher’s wildly successful fighting game Injustice: Gods Among Us, based on DC Comics’ superhero lineup. Injustice 2 features a massive selection of heroes and villains, and allows players to customize their characters with gear earned through gameplay. Continuing where Gods Among Us left off, Injustice 2 sees Batman and his allies working to rebuild society after a villainous Superman’s regime has collapsed. Developed by NetherRealm Studios, creators of the best-selling Mortal Kombat franchise, Injustice 2 features epic battles with top-class fighting mechanics. Injustice 2 releases in 2017 for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.

Also at E3 2016, WBIE is showing the latest expansion to LEGO Dimensions, its interactive, toy-based video game. This new expansion gives players access to more than 30 of the world’s biggest entertainment brands, including Ghostbusters, Adventure Time, and Mission: Impossible, with additional expansion packs based on other popular franchises like the LEGO Batman Movie, The Goonies, Sonic the Hedgehog, Teen Titans, Knight Rider, Gremlins, and E.T., slated for release throughout 2016 and into the spring of 2017. Competitive and cooperative multiplayer Battle Arenas, unique to each LEGO Dimensions property, offer four different modes and come with their own special golden Toy Tags, traps, special powers, and interactive environments. LEGO Dimensions is available now for Xbox One, PS4, Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and Wii U.

Always at the cutting edge of technology, WBIE is redefining what it means to “Be the Batman” through Batman: Arkham VR at E3 2016. Available on PlayStation VR this October, Arkham VR immerses players in the universe of the Dark Knight, allowing them to experience Gotham City and an all-new Batman mystery developed by Rocksteady Studios, creators of the award-winning, best-selling Batman: Arkham trilogy.

Building even further on the LEGO brand, WBIE is doubling down with two additional titles: LEGO Worlds and LEGO Star Wars: The Force Awakens. LEGO Worlds, available now on PC via Steam Early Access, provides an open-world gaming experience made entirely of virtual LEGO bricks, where gamers can create anything they can imagine. WBIE has announced new multiplayer functionality for LEGO Worlds, which allows two players to experience each others’ worlds, play competitive challenges, and show off their creations.

Continuing the publisher’s tradition of turning popular films into highly successful LEGO video games, LEGO Star Wars: The Force Awakens is based on the biggest film of 2015. Players can relive all the Star Wars action in the way that only LEGO can offer, and play through all of the movie’s story lines—plus additional playable content, with new adventures that explore the time leading up to the events of the film. Coming for PS4, Xbox One, PS Vita, PS3, Xbox 360, Wii U, 3DS, and PC on June 28, LEGO Star Wars: The Force Awakens should delight fans of the movie and the toys alike.
